This was a very good performance from the boys on a hot sunny day, where they played with a lot of effort despite the heat.   We said before the game with the team that the first goal would probably be vital, and luckily it went to us with a fine finish from Rupert, and it gave us a lot of confidence to take control of the game.   

We were two goals up at the break after Taye added a second and then doubled our lead with a great goal from Finn and another from Luke.  However it wasn't all one way traffic and Milo had already pulled off some fine saves before Barton scored from a free-kick.  The home team immediately got another as our concentration levels dropped for a few minutes.  Barton sensed they might be able to get something from the game after all, but we upped our game level again to see out the tie with another three goals from Rupert, Zac and Taye to secure a convincing and deserved friendly win.

This was a good all round team performance with a very well disciplined and solid defensive performance.  We've been working on communication and there was a real improvement in that today. The passing up front was fast and effective, and Thomas put in some great crosses from the right.  Finn was man of the match getting a goal but putting in a great performance in midfield.
