This was the last of our friendlies before the league season starts. It seems midweek away games are tough to get our players along to and we only had 9 registered players and had to borrow a couple of younger players to get the game on! Despite kicking off a player down we started brightly and took the lead with a good stike from Luke. They boys looked impressive at times, with one lovely move where we put together 10 passes to work into a shooting position. We held the lead for a while but went in 1-1 at half time after failing to deal with a corner.
The second half the game turned after we were harshly penalised for a handball in the area. After bring behind for the first time in the game we went on to let in a series of goals and somehow found ourselves four goals behind. However, full credit to the boys for a spirited finish to the game, despite being well beaten, where we were unlucky not to pull a goal back.
Again lots of positives to take from a game against higher division opposition and we look to be in a good place for the league season to get underway.
